Art Deco Sterling & Enamel Wrap Snake Bracelet
A fabulous enamel Art Deco (ca1920) snake wrap bracelet! Made of sterling silver, the bracelet portrays the coiled body of a snake that has alternating rows of green and white enameled scales. The snakes head is also enameled and has an intricate detailed green and white design and red eyes. His mouth is open revealing its piercing silver teeth and tongue. The bracelet is coiled fairly tightly, however, it easily stretches open to fit a normal sized wrist. On the bottom side of the snakes head are a few markings: "STERLING", "925" and "PD". When worn on an average sized wrist, the bracelet wraps around 3 times. A fun piece for the snake collector!
Measurement: The bracelet is very difficult to measure in length because it is coiled fairly tightly. When not being worn, the diameter in the center of the snake is approximately 1 1/4". The snakes body is approximately 1/4" wide and a little more than 1/8" thick. The head of the snake measures 1/2" at its widest point.
Condition: The overall condition of the bracelet is excellent. The enamel is good condition, however there are a few very minor chips, which are hardly noticeable. There is no damage to the body of the snake or the silver.
